Home Educating is an exciting but often challenging journey for families - particularly when starting off. Having professional help to get you through that first all-important year, or simply to have access to professional help when you hit a flat spot, can mean the difference between maintaining your child's registration or not.

 

We are a charity, and many families we help are on very low incomes. Indeed, without help, they could be excluded from home educating all together.

 

WSG offers professional advice and support. Volunteers provide help via email, phone and through home visits and other place meet ups.

Our advice is based on knowledge of the Act and knowledge and experience in education broadly, and home-education in particular.

 

Our volunteers Outreach work has increased annually. We assist upwards of 100 families a year, via advocacy, home visits, group meetings, phone counselling and emails.

We maintain ourselves as a registered charity and entity in order to monitor government actions in regard to home education.

 

Our costs relate to administration (office requisites, registrations etc) and travel. We usually need to find between $2 000 and $4 000 a year. A donation, small or large, can help us to help home educators and to help us monitor Government activities and react to them where necessary.
